A fixture on the University of Texas campus since 1924, Darrell K. Royal Texas Memorial Stadium is sold out nearly every time the Texas Longhorns football team takes the field. The stadium is named in honor of former Texas coach Darrell Royal, who captured three national championships in his 20 years at the helm. Although Texas lost of Baylor in the first game at the stadium in 1924, they haven’t lost many since then and are always tough to beat at home.
Now coach Mack Brown has the Longhorns playing great football and they will look for another national championship after winning a memorable Rose Bowl last year over Michigan. Texas Longhorns tickets have always been tough to find, and that will be even truer this year as the team looks like a serious contender to win it all. They will need to find a running back to fill the shoes of Cedric Benson, but they have a long history of developing great runners like Ricky Williams and Priest Holmes.
The Texas Longhorns football schedule is packed with big games including a huge non-conference battle against the Ohio State Buckeyes on September 9. It’s rare to see two national powerhouses take each other on so early in the season and that game figures to be the toughest Texas Longhorn ticket in many years, and that’s why you need GoTickets. Other ‘12 home games include North Texas, Iowa State, Oklahoma State and Texas A&M, which always is always a big event in the Lone Star State. And don’t forget about the Red River Shootout, the annual showdown against the Oklahoma Sooners at the Cotton Bowl in Dallas. If you need Red River Shootout tickets, you need GoTickets.
Always a work in progress since opening, Memorial Stadium has undergone numerous expansions and improvements. Among the recent enhancements are 52 luxury suites and several hundred new premium field-level seats. Future expansion plans are in the works that could increase the capacity up to an incredible 107,000, but that still won’t be enough seats for all the Texas Longhorns fans. If you want to get close to the action, you need to get your Texas Longhorns tickets and Darrell K. Royal Texas Memorial Stadium tickets through GoTickets.
