Saratoga Race Course
Saratoga Race Course is one of the most famous and historic racetracks in the world. The first Saratoga race meet took place in 1863 and the track’s marquee race, the $1 million Travers Stakes, will be renewed for the 136th time this year on August 27. Saratoga’s summer meet, held each year from late July to Labor Day, is perhaps the best meet in the country and annually attracts top horses, jockeys and trainers. Jerry Bailey, Pat Day, D. Wayne Lukas, Nick Zito and Todd Pletcher will all be there, and you should be too. If you want Saratoga Race Course tickets, check with Gotickets first.
Saratoga Race Course is located not far from the National Museum of Racing and Hall of Fame, and many horses enshrined there have run at Saratoga including Secretariat and Man o’ War, who lost the only race of his career in the 1919 Sanford Stakes, appropriately enough to a horse named Upset, from which it is said the sports term “upset” originated.
You don’t want to miss the special meet at Saratoga with a possible appearance by Preakness Stakes and Belmont Stakes winner Afleet Alex in the Travers Stakes, so get your Saratoga horse racing tickets and Travers Stakes tickets from Gotickets - your best source for Kentucky Derby tickets, Preakness Stakes tickets, Belmont Stakes tickets and Breeders’ Cup tickets.
