Seating in the State Theatre in Minneapolis carries a long history. So long in fact, that the city of Minneapolis went out of their way to purchase the theatre and make sure it was restored to use for the people of Minneapolis. That restoration topped $8 million and has paid off big dividends. Today, the seats of the State Theatre are filled with happy people coming to hear music, the wit of comedians, and stage shows of all types.
This is just the latest incarnation of the Sate Theatre. When it was originally opened in 1921 the State Theatre was one of the finest in the country. The main floor was glass, allowing for a totally original lighting system found nowhere else. The State Theatre also featured one of the earliest forms of air conditioning, using air cooled by deep water wells and pumped into the theatre. Later, when it became a movie house, the State Theatre installed a Wurlitzer organ for the enjoyment of the seated audiences at silent movies.
With both main floor seating and balcony seating available at the State Theatre, you can pick and choose from a wide selection of tickets to events at this historic venue. For the people of Minneapolis, seating in the State Theatre is a treasure. For you, with GoTickets in your pocket, it’s a sure trip to an evening of pleasure.
