The Walker Arena in Muskegon was a huge gift to the city by L.C. Walker, a wealthy Muskegon resident. Walker was interested in keeping his employees and local residents entertained and did so by constructing the approximately 5,000 seat arena on the site of a former supermarket. Today, seating in Walker Arena may give patrons the chance to see ice hockey, football, or any number of concerts or shows.
But of course you’re interested in seating in the Walker Arena and what kind of crowd to expect. Well, for ice hockey the seating capacity is 5,100 and sight lines are excellent. For concert seating there are two options. Reserved seating in front of the stage allows for 5,600, while general admission seating can be as high as 6,300. Family shows and other sporting events generally seat around 5,000.
While seating on the floor is popular for the diehards at concerts, most patrons prefer the comfort of reserved seating for concerts and other shows. These reserved seats are the ultimate in comfort featuring cushioned backs and seats. While on the small side, Walker Arena has all the modern amenities and in fact, with a rather low ceiling, the concert acoustics are very good. The low ceiling also seems to magnify the crowd noise during those close hockey games.
All in all we think you’ll find seating in Walker Arena to be everything you could hope for. Sports fans get their share of the action and concert lovers always leave happy with the sound and the view. In fact, Walker Arena may become your favorite hangout very soon.
