As the number one venue in the NBA three years running, the Bankers Life Fieldhouse is a mixture of retro architecture and contemporary design. On November 6, 1999, Bankers Life Fieldhouse replaced Market Square Arena as the home of the Indianapolis Pacers and the Indiana Fever. Built in the heart of Indianapolis, the barrel vaulted roofline, towering glass curtain walls, and brick façade make you feel like you are walking into Grand Central Station complete with grand staircase. The architects of Bankers Life Fieldhouse wanted to do more than just provide glamour, ritz, and high-tech electronics; they wanted to give Bankers Life Fieldhouse more of a nostalgic feel. When you enter Bankers Life Fieldhouse, yes you’ll be entering one of the NBA’s newest and most modern arenas, but you’ll also be entering an arena that is meant to bring you back into the history of the game, while at the same time providing visitors with all of the creature comforts they’re used to from the world’s newest mega-stadiums.
The actual entertainment arena is built in the shape of a bowl. Every inch of space is used for seating, and each seat sits at such an angle that no matter how small you are, there won’t be a head to look around. Bankers Life Fieldhouse has 54 concession stands With an up to 60 foot wide concourse for maneuverability. Bankers Life Fieldhouse, designed by Ellerbe Becket Architects & Engineers, was designed to meld the old with the new. Indiana basketball fervor is nationally know, and its high school, college, and professional games are documented on the walls of this “museum.”

While theBankers Life Fieldhouse does not have its own private parking, Indianapolis has over 20 parking lots throughout the city. Bankers Life is however connected to a parking garage on Pennsylvania Street.
Even if you park on the other side of city, it is a pleasant walk to Bankers Life Come early and enjoy a cup of coffee or a cold drink at a local facility. Restaurants, hotels, and shopping are close by. If you are flying in from another city, Bankers Life is a 10-minute cab ride from the Indianapolis International Airport.

Location: Bankers Life Fieldhouse is in the heart of Indianapolis, Indiana just ten minutes from Indianapolis International Airport. The more than 6 acre complex is between Pennsylvania Street and Delaware Street. Getting to Bankers Life from outside the city is easy by using Interstate 70 or 65.
Architecture: Bankers Life has 750,000 square feet and it took the world’s largest crane to lift the tresses to the top of the building.
