The Bob Carpenter Center
The Bob Carpenter Center is the home of the University of Delaware’s basketball program. It’s also the place where students and locals head when they want to catch a concert. This venue is well loved, known affectionately around the area as “The Bob.”
Opened in 1992, The Bob has a seating chart that can pack 5,000 in for Blue Hens games. For basketball, the most popular seating is right behind the Blue Hens bench, although the rowdy student body is know to favor gathering behind the visitors in order to offer them a warm welcome. Delaware is a member of the Colonial Athletic Association, the same conference that gave the NCAA Tournament the Cinderella team of George Mason. So you will be seeing some good basketball from the seats of the Bob Carpenter Center when the Blue Hens take the court.
For concerts, seating in The Bob can be varied from in the round seating to end stage seating. This venue has seen its share of name performers, but with a seating capacity of 5,000 competition for tickets is fierce. But let’s face it, what performer can resist the allure of performing in a place called “The Bob?” At GoTickets, we just love that name. It conjures up thoughts of being in the seats of our local arena, rooting for the home team. Anyway, when you’re ready for Blue Hens basketball, or any of the concerts in The Bob, we’ll be ready with plenty of choices for seating in this popular local arena.
