Events at Los Angeles Sports Arena
Now in its twilight years, the Los Angeles Sports Arena is home to USC Trojan basketball as well as concerts and other events. Built in 1959 for $7 million, the arena has undergone several recent restoration projects to keep pace with the times. Formerly the home of the Los Angeles Lakers, Los Angeles Clippers and the old Los Angeles Sharks of the World Hockey Association, the Los Angeles Sports Arena hosted the 1968 and 1972 NCAA Final Four, back before the event was held at larger stadium venues. The Sports Arena also hosted the 1960 Democratic National Convention (where John F. Kennedy was nominated) and boxing events during the 1984 Olympic Games. A member of the Pac-10, the Trojans will play against several top teams in 2005-06 and also have a non-conference game at the Sports Arena against defending national champion North Carolina and coach Roy Williams. Other home foes include Washington, Arizona and UCLA. Get your Sports Arena tickets and USC Trojans basketball tickets from Gotickets.
