The Florida Panthers will celebrate their 20th anniversary this season. As an expansion franchise in 1993, the Florida Panthers joined the Eastern Conference and quickly became a force to be reckoned with, reaching the Stanley Cup Finals in just their third season in Sunrise, Florida. Last season however, did not go quite as well. The Panthers finished last in the Eastern Conference, tallying just 36 points in the lockout shortened ‘13 NHL Season.

The Panthers will look to bounce back next season and quickly erase the memories of that year. The Panthers are led by captain Ed Jovanovski, who was the first pick by the franchise in 1994. The Southeast Division is certainly very winnable as the 3rd Place Hurricanes and 4th Place Lightning finished 13th and 14th in the Eastern Conference. The division winners, the Washington Capitals only tallied 57 points so it is very reasonable to believe that the Panthers can be highly competitive next season.
