There was plenty of uncertainty surrounding the Sacramento Kings heading into last season. Many were speculating that the Kings would be leaving Sacramento and heading back to Seattle, bringing the Sonics back to the Northwest. Thankfully for Kings fans those plans did not materialize. The Kings will remain in Sacramento for the foreseeable future. This season will mark the 29th for the franchise in Sac Town.

The Kings struggled last season under head coach Keith Smart. As a result Smart was replaced by Mike Malone, former assistant for the Warriors, Hornets, and Cavaliers. The Kings finished with a 28-54 record, which was 12th in the Western Conference. Despite their less than stellar win total, the Kings do have plenty that they can hang their hat on. Their roster features many young and talented players. They’ve got some great bigs including Cole Aldrich and DeMarcus Cousins in addition to talented guards like former BYU standout Jimmer Fredette and former Memphis star Tyreke Evans. Kings fans certainly have a lot to be excited about as their team looks to improve significantly in the coming years.
