The optimism at the end of Ball State’s ‘08 football season has turned into a bad taste in each fan’s mouth, as former head coach Brady Hoke is long gone, and the offense that used to be run by Nate Davis seemed to be run by no one last season. Coach Stan Parrish’s first year with the Cardinals was surely not what he was hoping for, but the good news about last year’s 2-11 campaign is that there is nowhere to go but up. The experience gained by many of the young players in Muncie projects to make a difference in the way this season turns out, and fans are hopeful that Parish’s second season will see his system set firmly in place. You can be a part of the turnaround with Ball State football tickets.

The Ball State Cardinals roster has the tools to turn around the team’s situation, as last year’s team was far better than the 2-11 record would indicate. The question this season will be whether these talented players translate the talent onto the field in a way that helps Ball State win games. The offense is led by a pair of excellent running backs, MiQuale Lewis and Cory Sykes, and wide receivers Briggs Orsbon and Torieal Gibson will give the passing game a chance to open up the field and put some points on the board. The defense will need a better pass rush this season, as they finished 106th in the country in sacks last season. Defensive end Robert Eddins is one of the best in the MAC, and it will be up to him to change the state of this defense and put some serious fear in the hearts of opposing quarterbacks. He will be helped by linebackers Davyd Jones and Travis Freeman, with safety Sean Baker helping out downfield. If you need Ball State Cardinals tickets, has them.

The Ball State Cardinals schedule gives the team a number of winnable games early on, as SE Missouri State (September 2nd) and Liberty (September 11th) will be the first two opponents of the year before the Cardinals go on the road to face Purdue and Iowa. Ball State will pay back-to-back home games in October, versus Western Michigan (October 9th) and Eastern Michigan (October 16th), and wins in these games will go a long way in making this a successful season.

We have Ball State Cardinals tickets available, and Scheumann Stadium is sure to fill up quickly for this exciting transitional year for the Cardinals. Make plans now to be in Muncie this fall for all the big-time college football action.
