Bowl Madness

The college football season is a five month party that slowly becomes more and more exclusive as December starts and conference play ends. The top teams get ready to take on other divisional champs in conference championship games as the fans countdown to bowl selection Sunday.

The new College Football Playoff Rankings determine who ends up in the National Semi-finals at the Rose Bowl & Sugar Bowl, while the remaining spots in the other major bowls will keep their conference tie-ins.

We'll continue to update the page from early projected standings until the initial release after Week 9, and throughout the 2015-16 season.

Who will be the National Champions in 2015?

College Football Playoff Standings

The new standings are the result of a 13-person selection committee that ranks their Top 25 from weeks 9 to 16. The top teams will be paired off 1 vs. 4 and 2 vs. 3 in the Semi-finals, with the winners playing in the National Championship:

Bowl Projections 2015

Our bowl game projections come from a number of different sources including the major sports outlets covering college football, prominent media members familiar with the bowl selection process, "insider" tips from reliable sources, and other credible resources that have proven themselves capable of pinpointing the bowl match-ups in the days and weeks before the official announcement is made each Bowl Selection Sunday. It is the collection of this information that helps GoTickets provide an accurate account of the bowl projections 2015, and hopefully helps you get a leg up on securing the bowl game tickets that you've had your eye on since conference championship week.

The bowl projections for 2015 and any year change from week to week if not game to game, especially as the regular season winds down. There will be the occasional team that secures a bowl bid a few weeks prior to the end of their regular season, but for the most part, everything falls into place between Thanksgiving and the first or second weekend in December. Conference championship week normally locks a few teams into place based on tie-in's with particular bowl games, but if confusion still remains after that last Saturday night of games, the world will know who is going where when the official announcement of the BCS rankings is made the following Sunday night.

Accepted Bowl Bids

Leading up to Bowl Selection Sunday and the official bowl announcements, the team names on our Bowl Madness page will change from BLUE to GREEN as accepted bowl bids are confirmed. Sometimes these bids are accepted one team at a time and announced by the schools themselves, sometimes they are released as a pair by the bowl game itself, and in rare instances, the conferences will announce where all of their teams are going in one grand press conference or release. Once those bids have been accepted, you can go check out the wide selection of bowl game tickets for each and every game on GoTickets.

One thing to remember about bowl games is, just like the Super Bowl, each one has become more than just a three hour football game -- they are now a multi-day spectacles that include parades, parties, hospitality events, player appearances, concerts, and much more. Some cities and games have more than others, and entry to some is included with your game ticket while others require a separate bowl hospitality ticket to be purchased, but all are well worth spending a few extra hours or days in the host city. From South Beach in Miami to Fisherman's Wharf in San Francisco, these bowl game cities have become great holiday destinations. And who knows, your bowl game might feature a surprise musical guest this year -- maybe a Garth Brooks concert?
