When coach Bob Huggins took the job at West Virginia, his alma mater, it seemed like the perfect match, and indeed it has proven to be just that as in his four seasons Huggins has taken the Mountaineers to a NCAA Final Four and a Sweet Sixteen. Last season was only a modest success, as West Virginia went 21-12 overall and had a record of 11-7 in the Big East Conference. The Mountaineers didn’t go far in either the Big East Tournament or the NCAA Tournament, but the West Virginia basketball roster is still loaded with talent. Huggins already has the experience of turning the Cincinnati Bearcats into a national powerhouse, and now he’s trying to do the same with the Mountaineers. You can never count Bob Huggins out, so make sure you have West Virginia basketball tickets this season.
A look back at last year’s West Virginia Mountaineers basketball schedule reveals some major wins for this program, as they won road games at Georgetown and Cincinnati, where Huggins formerly coached, and they also had home wins against Pittsburgh and the eventual national champion Connecticut Huskies. The Mountaineers proved that they can just as easily win on the road as they can in the friendly confines of WVU Coliseum, and you can follow them all season long with WVU basketball tickets from GoTickets. Some of the biggest crowds in the long history of the WVU Coliseum have come since the arrival of Huggins, and the popularity of WVU basketball tickets is not likely to let up anytime soon.
When WVU went to the Final Four in ‘10, it gave the Mountaineers one of the longest spans between appearances in that iconic event. That first visit to the Final Four came way back in ‘59, when the team led by future NBA star Jerry West lost by just a point to Cal. It’s not out of the question that West Virginia could once again make it back to the Final Four, and GoTickets will be ready to make you part of the experience with West Virginia Mountaineers tickets for any game on this season’s schedule.
