PGE Park underwent a $38.5 million renovation in 2001, and has reemerged as one of the best places to go and see a minor-league baseball game, USL soccer game, or a big concert. This outdoor, multi-purpose stadium can be used as a baseball, soccer, football or concert venue, and is the home of the Portland Beavers AAA baseball team and the Portland Timbers soccer team.
Originally known as Multnomah Field and later as Civic Stadium, PGE Park was the first outdoor baseball facility to install artificial turf in 1969.
PGE Park regularly changes its appearance to accommodate the different sports, and the average conversion time for the field to change from sport-to-sport is anywhere from six to eight hours, although the fastest time was three hours, when the surface changed from a baseball field to a football field.
