The Keller Auditorium was built in 1917, and was originally known as the Municipal Auditorium. It was home to the Portland Symphony Orchestra until 1984 when the orchestra moved to the Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall.
In 1968, a complete renovation was done of the auditorium, which was then known as the Civic Auditorium. More than forty years later, the Keller Auditorium is still hosting many of Portland’s finest performing arts. Now it is home to the Portland Opera, the Oregon Ballet Theater and Oregon Children’s Theater, and also hosts a variety of national acts and traveling Broadway shows.
The Keller is located on the corner of SW Clay and 3rd Avenues in downtown Portland. The venue does not permit flash cameras or recording devices, but does allow visitors to use binoculars during the performances.
