Irving Plaza, now one of the hottest music clubs in New York City, started out as performing arts center in the early 1900s and has undergone many changes since then. Cus D’Mato, the former trainer of Mike Tyson, used to hold boxing matches there, and Woody Guthrie and Muddy Waters performed at the venue in 1947.
