Orpheum Theatre-MN Seating Chart and Event Tickets
A little history lesson before we tell you what seats in the Orpheum Theatre in Minneapolis are all about. The Orpheum Theatre open in 1921 and was built a cost of over 1$ million. Quite a chunk of change in 1921. In the first week alone, with the Marx Brothers heading the lineup, the Orpheum, or the Hennepin as it was known at the time, welcomed over 70,000 patrons through its doors. Vaudeville had hit Minneapolis in a big way.
But as the era of vaudeville declined and Hollywood took over, the Orpheum Theatre became a first run movie venue. Gone with the Wind blew away all previous performances in 1940 with lines extending into the street for weeks. From the 50’s through the 80’s seats in the Orpheum offered patrons the best of Broadway and at one time musical legend Bob Dylan and his brother were the Orpheums owners.
Now to the present. After extensive restoration in 1993 the Orpheum Theatre is now filling the seating chart with concerts, Broadway plays, and dance revues from the finest companies in the country.
