The seating chart holds 42,000 in a horseshoe shaped arrangement. These savvy football fans also refused to install bleachers, instead making every seat in the stadium a chairback seat, something you won’t find in many college football stadiums. But before you take your seats be sure to visit the north end of Papa John, where you’ll have to chance to see the bronze statue of Johnny Unitas, the Louisville Cardinals most famous player to hit the big time in the NFL.

All that is great, but what makes seats in Papa John really special is the team you’ll see on the field. The Louisville Cardinals are simply one of the most exciting teams in college football. Year after year the Cardinals are at the top of the offensive stats. In 2006 the Cardinals finished 12-1 with a win in the Orange Bowl. In 2005 they won 9 games and capped off the year with a Gator Bowl appearance. Before that it was double digits wins and a Liberty Bowl victory.
