The 10,000-seat Rockford MetroCentre presents a busy schedule of professional sports and major entertainment events. The facility, which opened in 1981, recently underwent a $3.8 million improvement project that included the replacement of all of the arena’s seats. The MetroCentre is home to the Rockford Lightning of the Continental Basketball Association (CBA) and the Rockford IceHogs of the United Hockey League (UHL).
