Jacksonville’s Times-Union Center for the Performing Arts has its root in 1960, when 3,200-seat Civic Auditorium was first dedicated with a speech by John E. Mathews, Jr. Since 1960, the theater has seen major renovations, overhauls, and even the destructive powers of a wrecking ball as the site was prepared for the eventual introduction of the current Times-Union Center for the Performing Arts. In 1997, the Times-Union Center had its official unveiling with a performance by world renowned violinists Itzhak Perlman and Pinchas Zukerman. This performance marked the beginning of what has become a tradition of world-class symphonic music performances by the Jacksonville Symphony Orchestra and its illustrious guests. The Times-Union Center offers Yo-Yo Ma tickets, Joshua Bell tickets, and Evelyn Glennie tickets among others. And, of course, the most popular Jacksonville Symphony tickets are always available on Gotickets.com, the internet’s best source for hard-to-find concert tickets, sports tickets, and theater tickets. And while you’re in the Jacksonville area, be sure to check out our great offers on other area event tickets such as Jacksonville Jaguars tickets, you’re Florida source for the best NFL football action.
