Invesco Field at Mile High 1701 Bryant Street Denver, CO 80204 Capacity: 71,125

If the name sounds unwieldy, there’s a reason. Denver Broncos fans, loathe to part with the “Mile High” designation their previous stadium enjoyed, balked when the team signed a naming rights deal that threatened to put a brand name on their new publicly financed venue. “Invesco Field at Mile High” was the compromise that resulted. While it didn’t satisfy everyone - the Denver Post initially refused to refer to the facility by its official name - the controversy did subside long enough for everyone to notice that the Broncos managed to build one of the best stadiums in the National Football League.

For all the debate that greeted its unveiling in 2001, Invesco Field has numerous links to its predecessor. For example, the famous white Bronco statue that served as Mile High Stadium’s trademark - a 27-foot-tall, 1,600-pound sculpture known to Denver residents as “Bucky Bronco” - was removed and placed atop the scoreboard of Invesco Field. In addition, architects covered the base of the new stadium in red brick to remind patrons of the old Mile High. The result is a stadium that echoes the past without trying to slavishly recreate it. With its aluminum surfaces and undulating curves, Invesco Field is as modern as tomorrow’s headlines. You can check it out yourself by visiting Gotickets for your Invesco Field tickets.

The Broncos should have no trouble filling Invesco Field this fall. Quarterback Jake Plummer and company will face a daunting home schedule that includes games against San Diego (Sept. 11), New England (Oct. 16), Philadelphia (Oct. 30) and archrival Oakland (Dec. 24). Visit Gotickets for Denver Broncos tickets, San Diego Chargers tickets, New England Patriots tickets, Philadelphia Eagles tickets, Oakland Raiders tickets and any other NFL tickets you might need.

Unlike some of their NFL brethren, the Broncos don’t share their field with a college team. As a result, the stadium’s grass surface is considered by players to be one of the league’s best. Invesco Field’s playing surface ranked ninth in a survey conducted by the NFL Players Association last year.

Though there isn’t another football team on the premises, the Broncos don’t have Invesco Field all to themselves. The stadium is also home to the Colorado Rapids of Major League Soccer. You can get your Colorado Rapids tickets and MLS tickets at Gotickets.

Finally, Invesco Field is a favorite concert venue. In fact, it was before an Eagles concert on Aug. 11, 2001, that “Bucky Bronco” was unveiled atop the south scoreboard. The top attraction on this summer’s schedule is a stop by the Vans Warped Tour with Billy Idol, Offspring and Thrice among others. The tour arrives in Denver July 17. You can get your Vans Warped Tour tickets at Gotickets.

And don’t forget about the Broncos. They’re aiming to bring a playoff game or two to Invesco Field this fall. If they succeed, they and their fans will surely feel, well, mile high. You can be a part of it by buying your Invesco Field tickets at Gotickets.
