Celebrating its 80th birthday in 2005, the Pasadena Playhouse was an instant hit when it opened in 1925 and enjoyed many successful years. However, it started to lose its luster in the 1960s and went dark in 1969, and stayed that way until it was resurrected in 1986 and again became a top performing arts venue.
