The Dorothy Chandler Pavilion, which opened in 1964 and has a capacity of 3,197, features one of the largest stages in the country and has hosted the Academy Awards more than 20 times starting in 1969 and most recently in 2000 before the presentations were moved to the Kodak Theatre. The pavilion is now home to the Los Angeles Opera and Music Center Dance.
