In 2004, the Bulldogs rolled to a 9-3 record and capped their season with a victory over nationally ranked Virginia in the MPC Computers Bowl. The history of the Fresno State program includes several bowl games, including some you’ve probably never heard of - the Bulldogs won the 1937 Little All-American Bowl and the 1941 Pineapple Bowl, but they couldn’t muster a victory in the 1946 Raisin Bowl or 1968 Camellia Bowl. Prior to beating Virginia, Fresno State proved they could play with the big boys when they defeated UCLA in the 2003 Silicon Valley Football Classic and took down Georgia Tech in the 2002 edition of that bowl.
