A.C.T. ‘S GEARY THEATER TICKETS
A.C.T’s Geary Theater tickets have been a hot item in San Francisco since 1910. After the massive earthquake of 1906 destroyed all of city’s theaters, San Franciscans gave high priority to the rebuilding of the culturally rich downtown area. Bliss and Faville, one of the most prestigious architectural firms in the bay area, were contracted to design the new theater. Upon viewing one an A.C.T’s Geary Theater seating chart, event goers will see the beautiful layout of the Victorian designed interior and exterior that reflects the time of construction. The theater was again rocked by large earthquake in 1989. George Coates’s Right Mind, was less than two hours from kicking of the season opener of A.C.T’s Geary Theater. Ticket holders were preparing to enter when the quake struck, collapsing the large arch and bringing down tons of plaster onto the theater’s floor. Luckily no one was hurt in the accident, but the theater was all but destroyed after the quake left a two thousand square foot hole in the ceiling. The American Conservatory Theater was able to raise over $28.5 million for the renovations. The construction included adding seismic stabilization in order to prevent future calamities in the occurrence of another Californian earthquake. Geary Theater ticket holders will still be treated with the classical architecture of early San Francisco, but will also be more comfortable while view a show that can utilize the state of the art technology that was installed in the renovation.
