Rugby World Cup History

The 2007 Rugby World Cup was the sixth Rugby World Cup, a quadrennial international rugby union competition inaugurated in 1987. Twenty nations competed for the Webb Ellis Cup in the tournament, which was hosted by France from 7 September to 20 October. The tournament was won by South Africa, who defeated the holders, England, at the Stade de France in Saint-Denis, Paris. France won the hosting rights in 2003, beating a bid from England. The competition consisted of 48 matches over 44 days; 42 matches were played in ten cities throughout France, as well as four in Cardiff, Wales, and two in Edinburgh, Scotland.

England and Australia, which met in the final match of the Rugby World Cup in 2003, met in the first knockout round in 2007 where England prevailed ahead 12-10. At that 2007 first round knockout there were 60,000 fans at Stade VĂ©lodrome inMarseille. You won’t want to miss the excitement of the 2011 Rugby World Cup, and GoTickets.com can make sure that doesn’t happen with rugby tickets to every match.

For rugby fans, nothing can compare to being at Eden Park in Auckland, New Zealand on October 23 with 2011 Rugby World Cup final tickets. The stadium holds more than 60,000 spectators, but this figures to be one of the toughest sports tickets of the year, unless you buy them GoTickets.com.
