In each of the past four seasons, the Washington Capitals have won the Southeast Division title, and in the last three seasons they have easily topped 100 points, including the incredible season in ’09-’10 when they won 54 games and led the NHL with 121 points. That’s the good news, but the bad news is that the Caps have made an early exit from the playoffs each season, including a disappointing sweep in the Eastern Conference Semifinals last season when they fell to the Tampa Bay Lightning. Coach Bruce Boudreau has done a remarkable job with the Caps – they didn’t make the playoffs at all in the three seasons before he took over – but in his fifth season he will need to take the team on a deep playoff run. Will that finally happen? You can find out with Washington Capitals tickets for every game this season, including the Stanley Cup playoffs, and hopefully the Stanley Cup Finals.

Of course a big part of the reason for the resurgence of the Capitals has been Alexander Ovechkin, who you can see every year in the NHL All-Star Game. The Russian born left winger has already compiled more than 300 goals in six NHL seasons to rank among the youngest and fastest to achieve that feat. While Ovechkin has shouldered some of the blame for the playoff disappointments, clearly the team would not have been nearly as successful without him. His unique style of play and true love of the game makes him perhaps the most exciting star in the NHL, and that’s why Washington Capitals hockey tickets have become so popular. This might be the season that the Caps finally break through, so get your Caps hockey tickets now.

One of the highlights of last season was the NHL Winter Classic, in which the Pittsburgh Penguins faced off against the Capitals at Heinz Field. The Caps won that game in front of more than 68,000 fans, and then rode that momentum through the rest of the regular season. Now the goal is to take that into the postseason, and Ovechkin and everyone else on the Washington Capitals roster has pledged to work toward that goal. So check out the Washington Capitals schedule and pick the games you want to see. GoTickets has the best Capitals hockey tickets for every game at the Verizon Center.
