The Colorado Avalanche had one of the most disappointing seasons in franchise history. The Avs finished last in the Western Conference with only 16 wins and 39 total points. The Avalanche fired head coach and former NHL player Joe Sacco at seasons end and hired former Avalanche goaltender Patrick Roy. Colorado will look to bounce back this season as they try to right the ship in Denver.

Part of the reason that the Avalanche struggled so mightily this season was their incredibly inexperienced roster. Colorado named Gabriel Landeskog as its team captain prior to the 2013 season and he made history as the youngest player to dawn the ‘C’ in the history of the National Hockey League. With such a young team its no wonder that the Avalanche had such a difficult time on the road last season. The Avalanche were just 4-16-4 away from the Pepsi Center in 2013. With new head coach and fan favorite Patrick Roy in command, the Avs believe that they’ve found the right man for the job.

Take a look at the Colorado Avalanche’s upcoming schedule and order your tickets today to see one of the most exciting young teams in the league.
