Fans in the Motor City knew that they had a special team in ‘11-‘12, but it’s unlikely that even the most optimistic would have thought that the Detroit Red Wings roster would pull off an absolutely insane home season that broke the NHL all-time record with 23 consecutive wins that absolutely drove the hockey world crazy. Add to that the Wings’ 21st straight playoff appearance, and it was certainly a season to remember for Detroit. This season will be too, and you can be there with Detroit Red Wings hockey tickets.

It was fairly certain from the get-go that it was going to be a big season for the team last year, with the Detroit Red Wings schedule seeing them win their first five games in a row. Though that streak would be stopped, the home streak that they went on that ended in February overshadowed every other streak in recent memory. A large part of the Red Wings’ success came from stellar play from goalie Jimmy Howard, who managed a .920 save percentage and a 2.13 goals against average with eight shutouts, making him the 6th ranked goalie in the NHL by season’s end. And the Wings were no slouches on the scoring end either, with five players picking up 50 or more points, and three (Henrick Zetterberg, Pavel Datsyuk and Valtteri Flippul) hitting the 60 point mark. Unfortunately for the hopes of holders of Detroit Red Wings tickets, their seeding put them against division rivals the Nashville Predators, whom they had struggled against all season and had been two points behind in the standings. Though they outscored and kept more goals out than the Preds during the regular season, where the two teams had split the decisions of their tilts down the middle, the Wings were eliminated from the playoffs in five tough games. They will be looking for revenge this season, and you can join in with Detroit Red Wings tickets.

Joe Louis Arena in Detroit is gearing up for another big season, and additions like Mikael Samuelsson, Jordin Tootoo and Kyle Quincey means they’re in an even better state than they were for last year’s mighty run. The Wings have won the most Stanley Cups of any team, and that’s a tally they’d like to add one more to in ‘12-‘13.
