In an age where defensive play has become king, there are few successful run-and-gun style teams left out there, but the Chicago Blackhawks are the poster boys for high-octane, forward-heavy hockey. In their fourth playoff-reaching season in a row, and two years off from a spectacular Stanley Cup Finals victory, the rip-roaring Hawks were one of only 10 teams in the National Hockey League to hit the 100 point mark last year, and only five of those teams scored more goals than the Chicago Blackhawks roster, which put up a very impressive total of 249 goals in ‘11-‘12. You can see them fill up the net with Chicago Blackhawks tickets from GoTickets.

In what is almost certainly the most competitive division in the entire league, the Chicago Blackhawks schedule saw them winning a heavy majority of their games, having a losing record only to the Predators. Outside of the Central Division, however, the Blackhawks had a hard time keeping up their dominance, though they did maintain a winning record overall. As you’d expect from a team that relies on the undeniable skill of one of the best sets of forwards in the NHL, the Blackhawks had four players with incredible stats, including Marian Hossa (77 points), Patrick Sharp (69), Patrick Kane (66) and captain Jonathan Toews (57). On top of that, the Hawks had another five players with over 30 points on the season, making them an especially dangerous offensive team. The Hawks main issue was one of defense and goaltending, though goalies Ray Emery and Corey Crawford both had award-winning runs in March. Make sure you are there this season with Blackhawks hockey tickets.

The Hawks’ defensive woes carried over with them into the first round of the playoffs, where an epically brutal bout with the Coyotes that left players suspended and badly injured saw the Hawks get knocked out in six games when they simply couldn’t overcome the ‘Yotes forwards and failed to reach their goal of the Stanley Cup Finals. The Hawks are confident in their lineup, however, and the new season at United Center will see only a few key defensive additions. Those that love the old school, fast-paced high scoring style of hockey will want to snatch the always coveted Chicago Blackhawks tickets fast, as this team is looking for their second Stanley Cup in four years.
