The Phoenix Suns are in a bit of a rebuilding, transitional period. Last season the Suns finished just 25-57 and last in the Western Conference. In mid-January the Suns fired head coach Alvin Gentry and replaced him with former Detroit Pistons point guard Lindsey Hunter. It was Hunter’s first head coaching job in the NBA. In the 41 games under Lindsey Hunter, the Suns went 12-29. Despite the lack of wins, the Suns front office that they have the right man for the job in Hunter. With a very inexperienced and youthful roster the Suns are hopeful that they can turn things around in the not too distant future.

In the 2012 NBA Draft the Phoenix Suns selected UNC point guard Kendall Marshall. Marshall didn’t get a tremendous amount of playing time in his rookie season but did show flashes of greatness. In addition to Marshall, the Suns also have Michael Beasley and the Morris Twins - Marcus and Markieff. The roster has plenty of promising young players that should help Phoenix to develop into a legitimate playoff contender in the Western Conference down the road.
