The Cleveland Cavaliers once again won the NBA Draft Lottery and received the number one overall pick in the 2013 First Year Player Draft. The Cavs are quietly building a very solid roster in Cleveland. GM Chris Grant believes that he has the pieces in play to build a contender right now. And while the Eastern Conference is certainly very top heavy, there is definitely an opportunity for the young Cavs franchise to make a playoff appearance in the not too distant future.

Last season in Cleveland was certainly a forgettable one. The Cavs struggled mightily and finished the regular season with a 24-58 record. Their .293 winning percentage cost veteran Head Coach Byron Scott his job and opened the door for a new leader in Cleveland. The Cavs front office elected to bring back their old coach Mike Brown. Brown has been praised by many as a defensive wizard and should help Cleveland nearly immediately. Although things didn’t quite work out for Mike Brown in Los Angeles he should feel comfortable coming back and working for the Cavs.
