Phillies Tickets Info

The history of the Philadelphia Phillies franchise goes way back to 1883 when they started as the Philadelphia Quakers. To say they were a bad team would be an understatement – they finished with a record of 17 wins and 81 losses, which put them 46 games out of first place. That’s about how things went for the Phillies for many decades, and between 1883 and 1975 they made it to the postseason a grand total of two times. But nearly a century after the franchise was born, they finally turned things around in ’76 (which is fitting they would do that in America’s bi-centennial year since Philly is such an important city in American history) and made the playoffs six times over a period of eight years, highlighted by their first ever World Series win in ’80.

The team hit another lull for about 25 years after that (except for a surprising and unsuccessful World Series appearance in ’93), but since ’07 they have been arguably the best team in the National League. With a roster led by superstar Ryan Howard, the Phillies won the ’08 World Series and made it back to the Fall Classic last season, where they lost in six games to the New York Yankees. It would be no surprise at all to see the Phils make it back to the playoffs this season, and GoTickets.com has your Phillies tickets for every game on the schedule.

Undoubtedly part of the reason for the recent rise of the Phillies is their new ballpark, Citizens Bank Park. While their former ballpark, Veterans Stadium, might have been a nice facility when it opened in ’71, it became woefully outdated by the turn of the century and was notorious for having the worst playing field in Major League Baseball. So Phillies fans and players alike celebrated the opening of Citizens Bank Park in ’04. One of the features that the players surely liked the most was a real grass field, as opposed to the patchwork of artificial turn at the Vet. And when it comes to food, Phillies fans have a nearly unlimited list of options at Citizens Bank Park, including hoagies, BBQ and of course those famous Philly cheesesteaks. But to get in, you are going to need Philadelphia Phillies baseball tickets. GoTickets.com has them, and we have the best selection and best prices you will find.
