Last season was certainly one of change for the Florida Gators, as it was the first under new head coach Will Muschamp after the departure of the extremely popular Urban Meyer. The season started off well with four straight wins, including a victory over Tennessee, but then the Gators really struggled through the meat of the SEC schedule with four straight losses. Of course those four losses were against four of the top teams in the country as they had to face Alabama, LSU, Auburn and Georgia. The season had two more downers as the Gators lost to former coach Steve Spurrier and the South Carolina Gamecocks and then dropped a game against their in-state rival Florida State Seminoles. But the season did end on a high note as Florida beat the Ohio State Buckeyes in the Gator Bowl, which could give the squad a boost in confidence to get things turned around this season. Short of winning the BCS National Championship Game, there was not a lot that Muschamp could have done to win over the entire Gator Nation.
