This should be an interesting season for East Carolina football, as the excitement of back-to-back Conference USA championships was followed by the disappointment of watching former head coach Skip Holtz leave town, along with 18 starters. This will be a pivotal season for the Pirates, but it could also be the start of something truly great. Out is the old “avoid mistakes” offense, and in comes Ruffin McNeill with the high-flying offense he helped run at Texas Tech under coach Mike Leach. The question this season is not whether McNeill knows what he’s doing or whether the players want to win. The question is only, do the Pirates have the right players to take advantage of the spread offense. One way to find out is to get East Carolina football tickets and be there to see it all happen.

The East Carolina Pirates roster is full of promise, but most of this promise has yet to see the field as much as fans would like. Expect wide receivers Dwayne Harris and Darryl Freeney to be open a lot this year with the new pass-happy offense. And it will be up to McNeill to get one of his quarterbacks ready to take advantage of this system. Sophomore Brad Wornick and Boston College transfer Dominique Davis will look to spring an aerial assault on opposing defenses, and if they are able to adapt to the new offense quickly, this team could put up plenty of points. The East Carolina defense will have to recreate itself after losing all four of its defensive linemen, three of them to the NFL. Defensive coordinator Brian Mitchell, an exciting addition to this team who comes from an excellent BYU program, will try to put pressure on opposing quarterbacks with blitzes, but he will hope that the new front line grows up quickly enough that they can create pressure on their own. If you want to follow this team all season long, order your East Carolina Pirates tickets from GoTickets.com.

This year’s East Carolina Pirates schedule is the usual collection of exciting Conference USA action, with a September 18th away date at Virginia Tech and a November 6th home game against Navy that should give the Pirates some great out-of-conference tests. The season opens at Dowdy-Ficklen Stadium on September 5th against Tulsa, and the excitement continues all year. If you are looking for East Carolina Pirates tickets, we have what you want. Don’t miss one moment of this exciting transition, as the Pirates look to continue their winning ways and become one of the top offenses in the country.
