The Sugar Bowl is tied with the Orange Bowl and Sun Bowl as the second-oldest college bowl game behind the Rose Bowl, and since its inception in ‘35 the big game in the Big Easy has produced some interesting results. The second Sugar Bowl had a score more fitting for a baseball game than a football game, as TCU took down LSU with the scoreboard reading 3-2 when time ran out. Then in the ‘42 renewal of the Sugar Bowl, a true defensive battle ensued with Fordham beating Missouri by the score of 2-0. That game, like all the other Sugar Bowl games until ‘74, was played at the old Tulane Stadium, and the players in that contest had to contend with a driving rainstorm. Thankfully the game is now played in the Mercedes-Benz Superdome (formerly the Louisiana Superdome), so weather is never an issue. And finding Sugar Bowl game tickets doesn’t have to be an issue either when you get them from GoTickets.

Last year’s Sugar Bowl, which marked the 79th anniversary of the event, featured the Louisville Cardinals and the Florida Gators. The Gators were a heavy favorite but it was the Cardinals that came out ready to play, thanks in large part to quarterback Teddy Bridgewater’s performance. As one of the BCS bowl games, the Sugar Bowl is assured of having a marquee match-up every year. And because it is played in New Orleans, just a few blocks from famous Bourbon Street, you are sure to have a great time before, during and after the game. If you want to be there this year, then order your Sugar Bowl tickets today.

The Sugar Bowl normally includes a team from the powerful SEC, and last season was no exception with Florida’s appearance. Whichever two teams end up in the Allstate Sugar Bowl this year you can count on GoTickets to have the biggest selection of Sugar Bowl game tickets at the lowest prices.
