There is no doubt that the Big East has slipped a little bit when it comes to football, but it certainly looks like the conference did rebound some last season. While the conference failed to have a single team in the Top 25 at the end of the ’10 season, they ended up with two after last season. Of course one of those, West Virginia, has now departed for the Big 12 and been replaced by Temple. The future also looks bright for the Big East, as they are set to welcome a long list of new teams starting in ’13. The biggest addition will be the Boise State Broncos, and other newcomers will include Central Florida, Houston, Memphis, SMU, San Diego State and Navy. The Big East is also set to lose Pittsburgh and Syracuse in the near future, so it will almost be a brand new conference in a few short years.
