2004 Iowa State Cyclones football tickets rewarded college football fans with a ride on the Big 12 North roller coaster. As the 2005 NCAA college football season nears, Cyclone fans are hoping this year's Iowa State football tickets will take them on another ride, this time ending up at the Big 12 Championship Game in Kansas City. With a more experienced squad returning to Jack Trice Stadium for the 2005 college football season, Cyclone fans are lining up for Iowa State football tickets in anticipation of another run at the Big 12 Championship Game.
Head coach Dan McCartney's squad returns 18 starters from last season's Cyclones, who were one missed field goal away from winning the Big 12 North. Despite an extremely young offense, the 2004 Cyclones won four of their last five Big 12 contests to send their fans scurrying for Independence Bowl tickets.
Amongst the returning Cyclones is sophomore quarterback Bret Meyer, who, as only a freshman, delighted Iowa State ticket holders by passing for 1,926 yards and 10 touchdowns.
Meyer will have the benefit of a potentially lethal receiving corps at his disposal, including the explosive Todd Blythe. A big 6-foot-6, 205 wide out, Blythe, only a sophomore, finished the 2004 college football season with more than 700 yards and nine touchdowns. He caught touchdown passes from Meyer in seven of the Cyclones' first eight games, including a 104-yard, three-TD performance in a 48-41 win over Northern Iowa. Running back Steve Hicks will be the Cyclones' ticket to a balanced attack. After a 1,000-yard season in 2004, Hicks is back and his hoping to build off his 159-yard performance in the Cyclones' 17-13 Independence Bowl victory over Miami University (Ohio). Hicks knows his ticket to the end zone is to follow behind an improving Cyclone offensive line, featuring Aaron Brant, Kory Pence and Seth Zehr.
In the 2005 NCAA college football season Iowa State ticket holders also will be treated to one of the best defenses Jack Trice Stadium has ever seen. Last year, the Cyclone defense held opponents to 14 or less points five times.
McCartney's Cyclones will be tested early in 2005, as instate rival and Big Ten power, the Iowa Hawkeyes visits Jack Trice Stadium on Sept. 10. It's a safe bet Iowa State Cyclones tickets for that showdown will be in high demand. Iowa State tickets to see the Cyclones take on Big 12 rivals, the Oklahoma State Cowboys, the Kansas State Wildcats, Colorado Buffalos and Kansas Jayhawks, all at Jack Trice Stadium, also will be a hot commodity around Ames. With an explosive offense and one of the top Cyclone defenses of all time, Iowa State football tickets are a can't miss opportunity for fans across the NCAA college football landscape.
