After the ’10 season it looked like the Syracuse Orange football program had awoken from its slumber and was ready to return to prominence. That year’s team put up a solid record of 8-5 and took the first Pinstripe Bowl at Yankee Stadium over a pretty good Kansas State team. That set up high hopes for last season, which was the third under head coach Doug Marrone. Unfortunately, things did not really pan out, as the Orange struggled through a 5-7 campaign and put up a record of 1-6 in the Big East Conference. The team received plenty of attention on ESPN for their game against Toledo, where a missed extra point was incorrectly ruled as good to allow Syracuse to ultimately win the game. The highlight of the season was a 49-23 dismantling of the #11 ranked West Virginia Mountaineers, but then the Orange lost five straight to end the season. How will they respond this year? Get your Syracuse football tickets to find out.

Coach Marrone has a strong incoming class of freshman on the Syracuse Orange roster and that should help them be more competitive in the revamped Big East this season. The Syracuse Orange football schedule starts with a non-conference game against the Northwestern Wildcats of the Big 10, who will visit the Carrier Dome on September 1. Then on September 8, the Orange will face the USC Trojans at MetLife Stadium. The Orange also has two more big non-conference road games, as they will travel to Minnesota and Missouri. As for the Big East Conference schedule, Syracuse will host UConn, Louisville and Pittsburgh. GoTickets has your Syracuse Orange tickets for every game this year, at home or away.

With West Virginia departing the Big East for the Big 12, the race for the conference title is wide open this season and there’s no reason why Syracuse cannot jump up and grab it. More changes are coming to the Big East in future years, so now is the time for the Orange to make a run at the conference’s BCS bowl game berth. Make sure you are there all season long with Syracuse Orange football tickets from GoTickets.
