The college football season is a five month party that slowly becomes more and more exclusive as December starts and conference play ends. The top teams get ready to take on other divisional champs in conference championship games as the fans countdown to bowl selection Sunday. The BCS Rankings determine who ends up in the BCS Championship and the Rose, Sugar, and Fiesta bowls use conference tie-ins along with the BCS rankings and over-all yearly records to decide the year's match-ups.
We have listed the final 2012-13 BCS Standings that were released prior to bowl season. We'll update the page once the initial BCS Standings come out after Week 8 of the 2013-14 season.
The current system for using the BCS rankings to place teams in the top tier bowls has been in place since '98 and will continue until 2013-2014, when a new 4 team playoff system is set to take over the college football postseason.
