The University of Arizona basketball program has experienced tremendous change in recent years. At the end of the ‘07 season, legendary coach Lute Olson announced his retirement, and in the four seasons since then the Wildcats have already had three different coaches with one season under Kevin O’Neill, one under Russ Pennell and now Sean Miller will be in charge for his third season. Miller’s first two seasons in Tucson have been completely different – his first season ended with a 16-15 record and the Wildcats missed making the NCAA Tournament for the first time in 25 years, but last season was the complete opposite, as the Wildcats won the Pac-12 Conference regular season title, went 30-8 and advanced all the way to the Elite Eight and nearly to the NCAA Final Four. That earned coach Miller the John Wooden Coach of the Year Award in the Pac-12, and it signaled the return of Arizona basketball. If you want to be there this season, get your Wildcats basketball tickets now.

The Wildcats certainly were not among the early season favorites last year, even after the Arizona basketball schedule included 15 wins in the first 18 games. After all, the Wildcats had lost both of their games against ranked opponents and looked like they’d finish around the middle of the pack in the conference. But the team seemed to turn the corner after January and at one point won eight straight conference games. Even though they lost in overtime of the championship game of the Pac-12 Conference Tournament, they earned a #5 seed in the NCAA Tournament, where they beat Memphis, Texas and Duke before losing by two points to eventual national champion UConn. This season, the Arizona Wildcats basketball roster will be without Derrick Williams, who has moved on to the NBA, but there is still plenty of talent for Miller to work with. Get your Arizona basketball tickets soon and get ready for another great season at the McKale Center.

The Pac-10 will be known as the Pac-12 starting this season as Colorado and Utah both join the conference. That will give Arizona fans the chance to see a couple of new teams visit the McKale Center, and you can bet that all 14,545 McKale Center seats will be occupied for many of the big games this year.
