Best known as the home of the NFL’s St. Louis Rams, the Edward Jones Dome has also hosted a long list of major events. Back in ‘99 it broke a record for the biggest indoor crowd in the United States when some 104,000 people packed in to hear Pope John Paul II. The Dome also hosted the ‘05 Final Four, which featured a memorable title game with the North Carolina Tar Heels defeating Illinois. It has also hosted the NCAA Midwest Regional on three other occasions, and each time it produced some thrilling results. In ‘04, the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets upset the Kansas Jayhawks in overtime to move on to the Final Four, and in ‘07, the Florida Gators came rolling through the Edward Jones Dome en route to their second consecutive national title. Then in ‘10, the Michigan State Spartans earned their Final Four berth in St. Louis.
