It was designed to accommodate the Miami Dolphins, as its name implies. But in the 18 years since it opened, Dolphins Stadium has proven to be a peerless all-purpose venue, capable of playing host to everything from football and baseball games to circuses and monster truck rallies.

The Dolphins’ home was originally called Joe Robbie Stadium in honor of the team’s founder. Under Robbie, the Dolphins played in the hallowed but antiquated Orange Bowl. The move north to an uncluttered site near the Broward County line was an upgrade in every way. Dolphins Stadium was designed to be football-friendly, with a seating configuration that mirrored the dimensions of the field and put fans as close to the action as possible. While the majority of National Football League teams play in facilities that are less than 15 years old, the Dolphins’ home ranks with any of them as a place to watch a game. That’s why it has been the site of three Super Bowls, the most recent being [Super Bowl] (http://www.sportstravel.com/nfl/super-bowl.php) XXXIII in 1999 in which Denver defeated Atlanta, 34-19, in John Elway’s final game. It’s also why the NFL’s premier game will return in 2007, with Super Bowl XLI set to take place in the venue that until this past January was known as Pro Player Stadium. Super Bowl tickets, Dolphins Stadium tickets and NFL tickets of all kinds are available at Gotickets.

It isn’t just because of the Dolphins that this venue has become familiar to sports fans all over the country. It is also home to the Orange Bowl. This past January, Southern California routed Oklahoma for the national championship. This season’s game, set for Jan. 3, 2006, is sure to boast one of the best intersectional matchups of the year. Gotickets is your source for Orange Bowl tickets.

The stadium is also the home of the two-time world champion Florida Marlins. One of the most memorable games in recent baseball history was played there with Florida defeating Cleveland in Game Seven of the 1997 World Series, 3-2, in 11 innings. Gotickets is your source for Florida Marlins tickets, World Series tickets and baseball tickets of any kind.

Dolphins Stadium has often played host to major concert tours. Among the artists who have headlined shows are the Rolling Stones, Elton John, Pink Floyd, The Who, U2, Paul McCartney and the Three Tenors. You can find U2 tickets, Rolling Stones tickets( http://www.gotickets.com/concert.php) and an assortment of [concert tickets] at Gotickets.

The Dolphins, meanwhile, are trying to rebound from a disappointing 2004 season in which they won only four games. They changed coaches in the off-season, hiring highly regarded Nick Saban away from LSU. Team officials are hoping Saban’s arrival, coupled with a solid draft and an influx of free agents, will return the team to playoff contention. Miami will face what may be the league’s toughest schedule with home games upcoming against Denver (Sept. 11), Atlanta (Nov. 6) and New England (Nov. 13). Pro Player Stadium is always full on game day, but Miami Dolphins tickets, Denver Broncostickets, Atlanta Falcons tickets and New England Patriots tickets are available if you know where to look. Gotickets can put you right where you want to be.
