BC Place Stadium
BC Place Stadium is a major attraction for visitors and residents of Vancouver. Since its opening in 1983 this stadium has seen more than its share of action. Home to the British Columbia Lions of the Canadian Football League and the site of site of concerts and top rated shows, seating in the BC Place Stadium is a sure sign that you’re n for some fun.
As you make your way to your seats in BC Place, be sure to check out the roof overhead. Above you is the world’s largest air supported roof. That’s right. The roof is composed of a Teflon material and is supported by air pressure inside the stadium. As the first domed stadium in Canada, BC Place made itself unique with the design of the roof.
The BC Lions are the major tenant in this stadium and Lions tickets are always tough to get when football season comes around. Currently the football configuration seats 60,000 CFL fans eager to see Canadian Football, a more wide open version of traditional American Football. The Lions are always a tough team, last winning the Grey Cup in 2006 and filling the seats in BC Place at every game.
Looking to the future, BC Place Stadium is primed to play a major role when the 2010 Winter Olympics come to Canada. The stadium will be the site of many of the events of the Olympics, as well as hosting both the opening and closing ceremonies.
