Covering 147 acres and with a 51,000 seating capacity this premier thoroughbred racetrack needs no special introduction. Located in the heart of Bluegrass Country the Churchill Downs is home to the world renowned Kentucky Derby. The late Barbaro is the defending champion of the Kentucky Derby. Because of standing room only admissions during the Kentucky Derby, crowds bypass the 51,000 seating capacity to a whopping 140,000 spectators.

The Churchill Downs hosted the Breeder’s Cup on six occasions. Invasor took the victory in the most recent running of the Breeder’s Cup at Churchill Downs in 2006.
