Order Motley Crue tickets for the Saints of Los Angeles 2009 Tour. Motley Crue formed in Los Angeles and first came on the scene in 1981. Founded by Vince Neil, Nikki Sixx, Mick Mars and Tommy Lee the band was on top of the Heavy Metal world by 1984.
The 80’s was the era of metal bands with bands like Bon Jovi, Metallica, Aerosmith, AC/DC and Def Leppard just to name a few.
Motley Crue lived the lives of rockers in the 80’s and paid the price of drugs, sex and fast cars. Vince Neil wrecked his car in 84, while Nikki Sixx had a near-fatal overdose in 87. The band struggled in the 90s to find their way both in their personal lives and with their music, shuffling several new band members in and out.
In 2001 Motley Crue released their autobiography book The Dirt, which spent 10 weeks on the top ten of the New York Times best-seller list. The book classified the band as “the world’s most notorious rock band”. A film adaptation of The Dirt is due to release in 2009.
Motley Crue has a legacy with bands like Nine Inch Nails and Linkin Park noting the influence of Motley Crue in their music.
