Kix Brooks and Ronnie Dunn were the most popular country duo since the Judds and, in the process, became one of the biggest country artists of the ’90s. Their music ran from hard-edged honky-tonk to radio-ready contemporary ballads. Both Brooks (born and raised in Shreveport, Louisiana) and Dunn (born and raised in Coleman, Texas) were sons of pipefitters.
