David Archuleta Concert Tickets

David Archuleta may very well be America’s first male sweetheart, and he has stolen the hearts of teenage girls all over the US. He is the 17 year old phenomenon who sang his way into the finals of American Idols 7th season. His bashful charm, angelic smile, and twinkling eyes wowed audiences and fans just as much as his larger than life voice. Everyone thought he was the sure bet to win American Idol, but the teen had to settle with runner-up, which has not proved to be such a bad spot for any American Idol contestant.

Born in Miami, Florida, he is one of four kids and started to perform publically at the age of ten. His family moved to Utah and David started entering talent competitions. He won many of the contests that he entered. At the age of 12, he was a contestant on Star Search and unlike Britney Spears, Archuleta won the Jr. Division. Word got out about his talent and as a result of winning , a very young David found himself on the Jenny Jones Show. He was a huge fan of American Idol and loved to watch Tamyra Grey and Kelly Clarkson. He is a student at Murray High School in Murray, Utah.

Archuleta was influenced by Latin music, due much in part to his heritage, but it was Natalie Cole, Bryan Adams (who he got to meet on America Idol), Natasha Bedingfield (who promised to be David’s date to the prom), Robbie Williams, Celine Dion, and Mariah Carey (who mentored David through one show of Idol). Archuleta signed with Jive Records after Idol and his début album is due out in November the same time as David Cook. His version of “Image” was featured on So You Think You Can Dance] this past season as Katee Shean and William Wingfield danced. His song “Crush” became a number one seller on itunes within 24 hours of its release, and he won two Teen Choice Awards.
